Back in the Cold War days they were the ONLY means of transportation in some of the commy countries (notably Hungary)…. and a real PEST to be caught up behind. Something that would happen often when conquering the few asphalt roads at the time.
The trouble was thet they ran on a little 2-stroke engine, usually NOT maintained, and you would typically die driving behind them because of the fumes. And if THAT wouldn’t kill you, the BOREDOM would. They’d hardly drive over 60 km/hour and since there was only ONE major road you often could not pass them due to oncoming traffic or corrupt police… or both !
So I had to grin when I found this little U-tube movie on a forum this morning…….
