Plum Island FSX is back !

On May 7, 2017 By francois
With retreating our products from third party distributors unfortunately some went lost temporarily. Some older products could not be readily ported to the FSAddon shop. Bill Womack’s Plum Island was one of them and customers have been asking for it. Well, it’s back. From here on you can buy this little gem from the FSAddon shop and add it to your Bill Womack collection. Bill is now selling some of his newer products on his own site too, and you may want to check them out here.

Bullette from Lionheart Creations

On March 20, 2017 By francois
Our colleague and FS friend Bill Ortis of Lionheart Creations has published his latest creation, the Proton Bullette. “…. the exciting, classic Proton Bullette, the single seat trainer of the 1930’s and 40’s.  The Bullette was a mix of the best of Germany’s aircraft era, sporting a fuselage that was quite similar to the Bucker Jungman with its bowed down engine cowling, allowing pilots to see over the cowling much better.  The wings were made similar to Junkers swept back wing design.  The propulsion was the inverted V-8 by Argus engine company featuring 245 HP….”. The Bullette for FSX and P3D comes in 2 versions, fixed and retractable gear, with many different paint schemes. You can also download a paintkit to add even more skins yourself. For the first week the Bullette only costs $ 14.99, after that the package is $ 19,99. Read all about it on Bill’s own website here.

Work on new products

On March 5, 2017 By francois
Of course, the competition is watching and I won’t make the same mistake twice, so I am not going to spill all the beans just yet. But we have a ‘mystery guest’ of world fame working on a new bush plane for FSX/P3D, and Simon is working on a classic twin engine freighter. On top of that I am researching the Dart Herald to see if we can find enough material to make one in future. And now that we have restored at least one floor of our dwelling and are living ‘home’ again, I also have my office back. So I can continue work on the website and shop, and on the documentation for the new products. I will also pick up work on the new installers for all of our previous products. Thanks for your patience during these – for Nina and me – difficult times ! Francois

R.I.P. Mungo

On February 5, 2017 By francois
Just read this shocking news….. a bit late because of our own RL problems. Mungo Amyatt-Leir passed away January 18th….. Still cannot believe it. Way too young. Mungo was a great colleague and one of the all-time FS ‘good guys’, in the business for as long as I can remember. Please allow me to link to Andy Payne’s article on Just Flight. Read Andy’s account here.

Our house is partly destroyed

On February 3, 2017 By francois
Dear customers, I am really sorry to report that for the time being MY support and other FSAddon activities will be on a very low level. Our house and home here in Italy got arson-ed and we cannot live in it for the time being. All the shenanigans with insurance and such is taking up all our time, whilst we are camping out with some Italian friends. My office is not usable and I only have limited data ‘in the cloud’ (yeah, I’m old-fashioned). Everything is backed up, but until the house is livable again and I can get my office up and running, there is not much I can do with the backups. This is a major blow to us, after having worked hard the past three years to get the house restructured and prepared for our definite move here. I hope you can be patient until Nina and I have our life back on track and my systems [...]

My Amazon Bookstore renewed

On January 4, 2017 By francois
I have renewed my ‘Amazon Bookstore’. The old one didn’t work anymore and it was time for an update. I have added books that relate to many of our FSX aircraft, but you will also find others that I personally like. All have something to do with my many interests related to aviation and World War 2. Buying through my ‘associates’ store will add a few cents (literally) to my exhausted account. Thank you !!!!

FenceBuilder free extension

On December 13, 2016 By francois
Don Grovestein, the author of FenceBuilder Pro, has been expanding his product with new features over the years. He is now ready to make those features available to registered owners of the products, but only at ‘your own risk’. Don does NOT have time to further support extensions, and so we will NOT publish it as part of a regular product update. Here’s Don’s communique: “….. Since releasing v2, I have updated FenceBuilder PRO for my own use – fixing some minor issues, – making editing or relocating fence segments a “less clunky” operation, – eliminating the need to choose between SimConnect and FSUIPC, – adapting the product for use with P3D (to the extent of FSX compatibility) and FSX-SE,  and – adding a couple new features – most notably, the ability to create catenaries, e.g., sagging hydro transmission lines, guy wires, arches, etc.. I am happy to make a copy of the current version available to any registered user [...]

Change in distribution of our products

On December 7, 2016 By francois
FSAddon Publishing will stop selling its products via third party distributors as of January 1st, 2017 ! That means you will no longer be able to buy our products from simMarket, Aerosoft, Flight1 and other such general webshops. Instead you will find everything we produce on our own (Shopify powered) webshop. I understand that this may be somewhat of a disappointment to customers who prefer to buy at the large resellers, and we’ll probably even lose some customers (and yes, some visibility), but the fact is that I am running all this on my own. The combination of an ever shrinking FS market, high cost of the third party selling, high workload on all the administration (not the least because of EU tax rules), my ‘other’ activities (such as moving house and building a place in Italy and other work), (my) age induced slow reduction of energy……. all for a few hundred bucks a month just doesn’t justify it anymore.
