FSAddon is closing its doors

By francois On December 24, 2020 ·
Dear all, first of all let me wish you a Merry Christmas, even when in lockdown or otherwise limited. Hopefully, you are all still healthy. Also hopefully, next year will see a return to normalcy, and no, not the ‘new normal’, the regular one. Here’s hoping. Talking about next year….. the reason I am writing here is that I have decided to stop my commercial activities under FSAddon Publishing. It is getting too expensive, and too much work. Too much for the time I still have to spend on it, and too much for my age, I guess. Even though we are spending most of the time at home here in Italy, forced by the circumstances, I seem to be running out of time most every day. I guess the slower tempo of living and moving has to do with it ,-) Anyway, after all these years of FSAddon it is a tough decision. But with the advent of the [...]

Update of our Avro Anson

By francois On February 29, 2020 ·
Simon Smeiman finally got around to uploading his update of the Avro Anson. Yes, it took a while. But, yes, real life unfortunately is more important than our hobby life. Anyway, you will find the download in our download section, and in the Freeware Section of my webshop. Just download it, unzip it in a temporary folder and read the Readme file for instructions. Real simple. Enjoy !!

Bristol Freighter FSX and P3DV4

By francois On December 28, 2019 ·
YESSSSSSS, we did it. After 3 years in development Simon and I managed to get the Bristol Freighter ready for our on-line shop. It is now available for users of FSX, FSX Steam and Prepar V4 (and older versions). The last bit of work was figuring out the installer for all three FSX versions, but it finally came together. For a very friendly price you can now start hauling freight for your virtual airline, or in Air Hauler 2…… or just fly around for your own fun. Keep the shiny side up and HAVE FUN !!

Bristol Freighter for Christmas

By francois On December 19, 2019 ·
Yes, it took us more than three years. And yes, that’s a loooooong time. But hey, I got retired and lost my office PC’s, had to rebuild a new house and start a new life in a foreign country, while Simon had his own sets of real life issues. But we persevered, and we’re now almost ready. The FIVE aircraft are done, the documentation is done, the webshop sales page is ready, and the installer is almost done. Just some finishing touches and some testing…… so I am pretty sure we’ll make it BEFORE CHRISTMAS ! To already let you know what you’ll be getting in this package for FSX, FSX:SE and P3D, you may download the user manual already, for free. Have a look here !!

A FREE pair of aircraft

On September 12, 2019 By francois
At long last, there is some news from FSAddon and Simon Smeiman. Our friend Simon has had some personal issues to attend to over the past year, and that’s why the release of our Bristol Freighter is still waiting. We DO have the final Beta now, so we’re hoping to get it out soon. But in the meantime, Simon decided to release one of his other projects as FREEWARE….. just to keep you busy so to speak 🙂 Simon modeled two lesser-known aircraft, the Adam Aircraft 500 twin prop and its slightly larger brother the Adam Aircraft 700 with twin jet propulsion. You can download the package HERE, and install it in FSX, FSX Steam Edition or P3D. Mind you, due to our OWN personal issues, I haven’t been able to install them myself yet, but I’ll trust you’ll have fun with these. Meanwhile we’re working again on the Bristol Freighter so we can get that into our shop [...]

Raiders from the sea

On August 26, 2019 By francois
Monday, August 26, 2019 by John LodwickThe Story of the Special Boat Service in WWII I picked up this book and leafed through it. Just a few, not too clear pictures. And a few maps. Hmmm… Then I started reading and to be honest, I only put it down when my wife threatened to burn dinner if I would not come and eat. Yes, that’s how much I like this book!! The Special Boat Service, the Long Range Desert Group, the Special Air Service, the SOE….. one thing all of these had in common was indeed that they were ‘special’, in so many ways. In the men that served and the men that lead them, in their equipment, their methods, their targets and their way of fighting and surviving. It is not only amazing to read the many different and often very daring operations these units were involved in. It is equally interesting to read about the ‘politics’ that [...]

More flaps, less speed

On August 18, 2019 By francois
The good news: the shop will remain open for now. But…….. Dear visitors, customers and friends, when I retired I had hopes of continuing at least FSAddon as one of my many activities, dropping many others. And I still intend to….. but reality has shown that I now have to spend MUCH more time on my private life, my dear wife, our new friends and the village community here in Italy. Then there is the extensive travel we do on discovering all these fine historic towns, wonderful restaurants, gorgeous vistas….. And last but not least, age plays its ugly part. Summers here are very hot and most certainly limiting what I can do at my PC, while the house is very cold in winter, except a few areas. We cannot heat it all I’m afraid. All combined throws a major spanner in the wheel of my 365 x 24 support I used to provide. (Yes, I was a true workaholic). 2 [...]

On January 14, 2019 By francois
We are excited to tell you that at long last our Bristol Freighter is in Beta2 and we are hard at work getting the little bits that need changing in order. Work on the manual is also on-going and next will be testing in P3D. We hope to release the aircraft in the next 3 months. This is a wonderful classic prop aircraft that was in use in many countries around the world and Simon Smeiman has made a number of versions again as is his hallmark. This aircraft will also be a great addition to the fans of Air Hauler, what with the new Air Hauler 2 just being released
