Compiling error when adding Single objects
« on: February 20, 2015, 09:20:25 PM »
Hi,
I have used FenceBuilder with no problems except when trying to add a Simple Object like a chain linked fence.
After following the instructions from the Manual there has been no success.
As per the Manual I did not move the aircraft but it was pointing at the direction of the fence.
I had this message:

Parsing document: D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\FSaddon\FenceBuilder Pro\Projects\SVGO_GATES\SVGO_GATES_FSX.xml
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR:  #C2033: XML Parse Error (line, column, error)
ERROR: 12, 30, pattern constraint failed.
The attribute: 'alt' has an invalid value according to its data type.
INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR:  #C2606: Schema errors detected, compilation failed!
Parse complete!

I would appreciate very much your help.
Regards,
Hector

Hector, please attach, or send to me via e-mail at don at stuff4fs dot com, the XML file that is causing the error so that I can see what FBP has output, please.

Hector, from the XML you sent me, it appears that you did not enter a valid elevation (AGL) for the object.

Hi Ddon,
I have tried different elevations including ticking the A/C spot.
Should it be AGL or ASL? What is the premise for setting this elevation?

Don't know what you mean by "ticking the AC spot".

You can use AGL or ASL. But, you must enter a valid elevation.

Without knowing exactly what you are trying to do, I can't tell you  much more than is in the user manual.

Hector, I can't see anything wrong from your screenshots - assuming your later entered things like a .bgl file name.  But, using FBP to place a single object is a lot more work than necessary.  FBP is intended to place gates along with a fence.  If all you want to do is place a single gate, you could use any object placement program - including ADE - with a lot less effort.

Also, when you place an object using the user aircraft as reference, you need to allow for the offset of the C of G which, in your case, seems to be 3.6' off the ground.

Unfortunately, I'm travelling at the moment and don't have access to my development system.  (Given that I developed FBP about 5 years ago, some details have faded from my memory.)  What I can see from the XML you sent is that the gate was never placed since the guid is empty.

I will be back at my development system early next week.  If you are still having difficulty, please post again and I'll see if I can be of further help.
